Social Worker (LCSW)

A successful Digital Pioneers Academy Social Worker will ensure that all DPA scholars meet the highest academic and behavior standards. Digital Pioneers Academy is seeking a dedicated social worker to provide comprehensive social work services to parents, scholars and school staff, addressing barriers that limit a scholar from receiving full benefit from their educational experience. DPA social workers will enable scholars to achieve to their fullest potential academically by assisting scholars to develop coping skills, increase self-esteem, improve interactive skills, and facilitate environmental changes that will enable successful functioning within the learning setting. Social workers will also provide crisis intervention and individual or group intervention services to support mental health  issues for scholars, school personnel and community/family.

We are looking for experienced individuals with an exceptional track record in a school setting.

• Developing strong relationships with parents and scholars, creating investment in school culture and academics

• Implementing curricula and activities to meet academic standards 

• Teaching scholars through an inquiry-based curriculum that focuses on the dual tenets of logic and reasoning

• Designing assessments that measure progress towards academic standards

• Using assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices

• Driving academic outcomes by analyzing scholar work and data, and implementing high leverage instructional moves to ensure dramatic gains for all scholars

• Participating in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and schoolwide functions

• Collaborating with grade level teachers to create consistent structures and systems for your shared cohort of scholars

• Serving as an advisor to a small group of scholars

• Master's of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work

• Social Worker must be able to be certified or eligible for certification through OSSE as a school psychologist k-12

• Strong interpersonal skills and high moral character

• Passionate about learning

• Understands  the nuances of urban school environments and school culture

• Has evidence of self-motivation, diligence and willingness to be a team player

• Strives to improve the minds and lives of scholars in and out of the classroom

• Problem solves and is results-oriented

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with scholars, parents, colleagues, and community members

Digital Pioneers Academy offers a highly competitive salary based on education and experience. Teachers generally make between $60,000 and $85,000 per year. Digital Pioneers also offers an excellent and comprehensive benefits package for all full-time staff.
