School Psychologist Mission
To serve as a School Psychologist at Digital Pioneers Academy (DPA), a 6th-12th grade college preparatory school that will consistently rank as a Tier 1 Washington, DC public charter school. Position Summary
A successful Digital Pioneers Academy School Psychologist will ensure that all DPA scholars meet the highest academic and behavior standards. We are committed to creating a community where every scholar and adult feels known, loved and respected. Team member investment in building culture and character will prepare scholars to lead productive lives meeting the demands of the post-secondary arena and job market.
Digital Pioneers Academy is seeking a dedicated school psychologist to provide a full range of school psychological services to middle school-aged children, including screening and assessment, designing remedial educational programs, and provide behavior support services as prescribed on scholars’ IEP’s or 504 plans. The school psychologist functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to determine the scholar’s eligibility for specialized services, appropriate programming, and ongoing progress. DPA school psychologists will enable scholars to achieve to their fullest potential academically by assisting scholars to develop coping skills, increase self-esteem, improve interactive skills, and facilitate environmental changes that will enable successful functioning within the learning setting. School psychologist will also provide crisis intervention and individual or group intervention services to support mental health issues for scholars, school personnel and community/family.
We are looking for experienced individuals with an exceptional track record in a school setting.
Responsibilities

Screen, evaluate, write reports on, and make educational program recommendations for referred scholars; assess scholars and document results.

Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and the individualized education program team, contributing evaluation findings and collaborating on scholars’ educational plans.

Complete functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans and conduct reviews with the multidisciplinary team and monitor the execution of plans

Provide collaborative consultation and documentation of results, including assisting education staff with suggestions and implementation of intervention strategies.

Consult with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the child’s program and any adaptations and materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home

Provide direct services through a variety of methods (e.g. classroom presentations, co-teaching in general education settings, in-services to staff and parents, etc.) as needed.

Support and implement LEA policies, regulations, procedures, and administrative directives; demonstrate loyalty to the LEA and other administrators.

Submit records, reports, and assignments promptly and efficiently.

Maintain appropriate data on scholars to document current levels of performance and other pertinent information. Re-evaluate, as appropriate, to determine extent of progress and effectiveness of therapy.

Establish and monitor caseloads, procedures, and resources to manage services to scholars and staff and work cooperatively to accomplish individual educational program goals.

Adhere to ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education programs.
